Ministry cautions against bogus job recruiters

27 Mar

Young men and women applying for various posts in Southern Railway have been asked to ensure that they go through only the government agencies while applying for jobs in the event of a vacancy, officials have cautioned.

According to a recent tweet from the Railway Ministry, candidates have been asked to consult only the official websites of railway recruitment board’s respective regional offices and zones.

The appeal came in the wake of a recent notification that was purportedly issued by the Ministry.

The notification had called for applications from women for the post of constables in the Railway Protection Force and that a pre-recruitment camp was proposed to be conducted in Kerala. The notification, sources said, was a fake.

Reacting to this, the Ministry issued a caution notice, stating that neither the RPF nor any other department of the Ministry was conducting any such pre-recruitment camp. It appealed to the youth to on the guard against such bogus organisations.

Further, it said the youth should check the official websites of Railway Recruitment Board (www.rrbchennai.gov.in) and Railway Recruitment Cell (www.rrcmas.in) for job notifications, recruitment processes and results.

Officials said no major fake job racket had been unearthed in Chennai in the recent years and that they had issued the notice as a precautionary measure.

Often, youth apply for job vacancies in the Southern Railway, and officials wanted to ensure that they were clear in their announcement that no agent was appointed to conduct job selections on their behalf.

Announcement comes after a fake notice calling for the post of RPF women constables started doing rounds
