‘Sarathi Seva’ service for physically challenged passengers on Konkan Railway introduced

Konkan Railway Corporation  has introduced a unique ‘Sarathi Seva’ service for the physically challenged passengers along its route on Friday.

The route passes from Konkan region of Maharashtra to Karnataka via Goa.

In this service, wheel-chair along with an assistant is provided free of cost to physically challenged passengers at nominated stations from coach to exit  and vice versa.

At present this scheme is available at Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Karmali, Madgaon and Udupi stations.

To avail this service, passengers are required to simply send an SMS with their names and journey particulars to mobile no.9664044456. The rest is taken care of by Konkan Railway.

So far about 175 physically challenged passengers have availed of this service.
