This move has been widely appreciated by the stakeholders as this type of governance and transparency has never been seen before in any government department.

Both the social media platforms of Ministry of Railways are followed widely as they provide a combination of information pertinent to passengers, new policies, new innovations, new ideas, new developments in infrastructure and rolling stock, new thoughts as well as vignettes of the past. They keep the people informed of the processes which are going on in the Railways which would culminate in long term policies benefitting the passengers. Both the social media platforms of IR are extremely riveting due to their interesting and informative content.

The social media platforms of the Ministry of Railways have been created and designed to engender participation by the public at large.
